Frank Stamford will present on the following subject:

Grand Tour of Queensland 1964

In August-September 1964 the Australian Railway Historical Society Victorian Division ran a three-week tour of Queensland covering over 6100 km in a ten-car train, which included five sleeping cars and two dining cars. Steam haulage was used wherever possible, and steam locomotives were still in wide use on the Queensland Government Railways and at many sugar mills.
This presentation will highlight steam operations, sugar tramways, and diesels in wonderfully weird outback places!
